1. Paper Presentation
▪ Paper presentation schedule
▪ Guidelines
The goal of this assignment is to introduce a paper related to our course topics to the class. You will benefit most from reading the paper carefully and identifying its key points. In your presentation, focus less on technical implementation details and more on clearly explaining what problem the study addresses, what it does, what it finds, and what it contributes to the field.
When preparing your presentation, consider the following guiding questions:
- What problem does the paper address?
- Why is this problem important?
- What research gap does this paper identify?
- What research questions or goals guide the study?
- How did the authors approach the problem?
- What are the key findings?
- What does this paper contribute to the field?
- What are the strengths and limitations of the study?
- What remains unresolved or could be improved?
- What are potential future directions?
- Are there any studies that have built on this work?
- Prepare a short Q&A slide for the end.
▪ Evaluation
Presentations will be evaluated using the following criteria (10 points total):
- Clarity (3 points): Are the key ideas communicated clearly and effectively?
- Depth (3 points): Does the presenter demonstrate a solid understanding of the problem, approach, findings, and significance of the paper?
- Organization (2 points): Is the presentation well-structured and easy to follow?
- Timing (2 points): Does the presentation stay within the allotted time?
