Course Description
Corpus linguistics is a data-driven approach to language research that investigates patterns of language use in large collections of texts. Increasingly, corpus linguistics intersects with natural language processing (NLP), as computational methods make it possible to annotate and analyze increasingly large and complex language datasets. In this course, students will engage with key concepts and methods in corpus linguistics and explore how NLP approaches can be applied to linguistic research questions.
