✦ Guidelines

  • This presentation introduces the background research relevant to your project topic.
  • The main goal is to help your classmates understand the key studies that inform your project.
  • Time limit: 12 minutes total (maximum 15 minutes)
    • ~8 minutes presentation
    • ~4 minutes Q&A
  • In the Project Proposal assignment, each group created an Annotated Bibliography (at least 3 sources). For this presentation, you should:
    • Introduce at least 3 sources closely related to your project
    • Explain the main ideas, findings, or experiments of each source
    • Discuss how these sources inform or motivate your project
  • Possible elements to cover:
    • Research problem addressed in the paper
    • Methods or approach used
    • Key findings
    • Why the study is relevant to your project

✦ Submission

  • Upload your presentation slides to MyCourses
  • All group members must submit the report, but you should submit the same version for your group

✦ Evaluation (8 points total)

Presentation quality (2 points each; 6 points total)

  1. Clarity: Are the key ideas explained clearly and understandably?
  2. Depth of understanding: Does the presenter demonstrate a clear understanding of the research problem, approach, and significance?
  3. Organization and timing: Is the presentation well structured and within the allotted time?

Research content (1 point each; 2 points total)

  1. Relevant sources: Are at least three relevant sources presented and correctly cited?
  2. Connection to project: Does the presenter clearly explain how the sources relate to their project?
